When Kathy and I moved into our house back in July 2011, the floors were covered with ugly, smelly red carpet. We tore that carpet out and discovered why they stunk. It appeared that animals were using it as a pee pad for years.
Underneath the carpeting was unfinished wood flooring. Prior to moving in Kathy worked extremely hard sanding and staining the entire first floor. The floors looked great… until we adopted Bettis. Continue reading “New Downstairs Floors”
The bathroom is almost finished; Kathy has done an amazing job. She just finished the shower doors. All that is remaining is some molding. Kathy is also planning on building some shelves, cabinets, etc. if we cannot find anything reasonable at Ikea.
The previous owner’s remodel was done so poorly, it literally depressed and angered me to even enter the room. Everything they did baffled me. Now it’s history and finally, I can use the bathroom and not feel depressed or anger. Continue reading “Remodeling a Horribly Remodeled Bathroom – Update 2”
Before we adopted Kara, our new Border Collie/Chocolate Lab mix puppy, we were delaying erecting a fence, however, with the new puppy, the fence project moved into priority #1. The unfinished retaining wall was placed on hold. The Stafford Wolf Pack was in need of an open space where they could hunt birds, bees and squirrels.
Established in 2005, Zoey considered herself a bit of a loner. She tended to think of herself as a one-dog wolf pack. But when Kathy and I brought Dot home in 2010, Zoey knew Dot was one of her own and her wolf pack… it grew by one. So there… there were two dogs in the wolf pack… Zoey was alone first in the pack, and then Dot joined in later. Three years later, Bettis was introduced to the wolf pack and four years after that, on May 26th, 2017, Kara joined the pack. Zoey thought, “Wait a second, could it be?” And then she knew for sure, she had gradually grown her pack to four badass ‘wolves’. All four wolves run wild in the Stafford House, intimidating the humans for treats and always on the search for more kibble and bits… (Heavily modified quote from the Hangover).
As I completed more and more of this Great Wall, my perfectionist side of my personality became impossible to ignore. I usually only listen to it when I am at work and programming but it was overpowering and I caved.
